Description

This is my Ice Queen cosplay from Naka-con 2012. Made and modeled by myself. Picture taken by :icondeviated-septum:

I made the dress using the 'saloon girls' simplicity (I think) Pattern and my glorious dress form that my mother gave me for christmas. It took a lot of patience and brainstorming to figure out what I was doing with the dress. Seeing as Ice queen's actual design is very cartoon-ey (imagine that...) I decided to take her initial design and turn it into a more 'realistic' gown. I played with poofy sleeves and gathering and all that jazz and am rather pleased with the dress. I even tried my hand at making a bustle and using a hoop skirt.

The wig was bought from Epic Cosplay and is nice and soft.

I made the eyebrows by using craft foam and gluing white wig wefts to it and giving them the proper shape. I also attacked bobby pins to the eyebrows so I could attach them to my wig so that way I could distribute the weight of the eyebrows evenly. I used a mixture of spirit gum and eyelash glue to keep the eyebrows on my face.

The body-makeup I used is called 'Snoozaroo'. I had to mix it with some generic white cream makeup in order to distribute the foundation evenly. Snoozaroo is a water based makeup and therefore is harder to apply evenly to the skin so if you purchase this product make sure you practice with it!

The tiara and choker are made of craft foam using the 'armor' technique[ [link] ] <- link if you need it. and I resin-cast all the gems as well as the circle-decorations on Queeny's dress.
